"It's probably clear to everyone that the main topic will be resolving the Ukrainian crisis," Ushakov said, referring to the summit in Alaska on Friday. It will be the first meeting between the leaders of the United States and Russia since 2021.

"Of course, broader issues regarding ensuring peace and security, as well as current international and regional issues, will also be discussed," he added.

The talks between Putin and Trump in Alaska are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. local time (10:30 p.m. Latvian time), Ushakov announced.

Only the two leaders and their interpreters will participate in the talks, but talks between the delegations of the two countries are planned after that, Ushakov revealed. The Russian delegation will include Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Putin's special representative Kirill Dmitriev.

After the talks between Putin and Trump, a joint press conference is planned between the two leaders, at which they will"summarize the results of the conversation," Ushakov announced.
