President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that shaheeds, due to their large number and modernization, are becoming more dangerous than ballistic missiles.
The head of state said this during a conversation with journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Shaheds have now become more dangerous than ballistic missiles in some places. We shoot down a ballistic missile at least where we have Patriot. And to shoot down such a large number of Shaheds at such an altitude, we need to use everything. Interceptors, F-16s, helicopters - we use everything. And a lot depends on the weather. In the cold, we'll see how we use helicopters. Rain, etc. - aviation doesn't see everything that way anymore, Zelenskyy noted.
Regarding interceptor drones, he noted that in November it is planned to start producing 500-800 units per day.
"We need to train operators. Many mobile fire groups are stationed at various facilities, now we need many operators who will work with interceptors," Zelensky added.
The President also emphasized that Ukraine will respond to Russian attacks, in particular, it is planned to increase the combat use of Flamingo missiles and Ruta missile drones.
Flamingo - there was a combat use. Ruta - there was a combat use. We are doing everything so that this year we try (to use them) not one, two, three, but seriously... We are going for it. We believe that we will succeed. We really hope for it. Because our repeated uses have shown that there can be an effective result, - the head of state noted.
As reported, on October 26, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian Federation used more than 50 missiles, almost 1,200 strike drones, and more than 1,360 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine over the past week (October 20-26). In total, since the beginning of the year, Russia has fired about 770 ballistic missiles and more than 50 Kinzhal-type hypersonic missiles against Ukraine.
