The Emir of Qatar  Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended the funeral of Hamas members killed during the Israeli raid that had taken place in Doha two days earlier.

The funeral of a total of six men took place at the Imam Abdul Wahhab Mosque in Doha, the largest in the Qatari capital, at approximately 3:30 p.m. local time, after the afternoon prayer.

Five Hamas members and a Qatari officer were killed in Israeli strikes last Tuesday. The deceased will be buried in the Mesaimeer cemetery near the city of Doha, Qatar's Interior Ministry announced.

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended the mosque for the ceremony and participated in the prayer next to the bodies of the dead. The coffins of the Hamas members were draped with Palestinian flags and the coffin of the Qatari officer with the Qatari flag.

Israel carried out airstrikes targeting a meeting of senior Hamas figures, including chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, in Doha on Tuesday. Hamas claims that Hayya and other senior figures survived, while Israeli media reports that the Israeli attack likely failed to achieve its stated objective.

Hayya, a member of the five-member interim committee that runs Hamas, was reportedly the main target of the attack.

Regional media reported that former Hamas political chief Khaled Meshaal and senior officials Zaher Jabarin and Mohammad Darwish were also present in the building at the time of the Israeli attack. The exact condition of Hayya and the other leaders after the raid is unknown, and it was not immediately clear whether they were present at the funeral held in Doha on Thursday. Footage from the funeral broadcast by Al-Hadath showed senior Hamas officials Osama Hamdan and Izzat al-Rishek attending the funeral.
