Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has admitted that further liberation of occupied territories by military means is no longer possible, according to the British newspaper The Telegraph. Ukraine is therefore considering a ceasefire on the current front line if it could lead to an end to the war.

Putin welcomes Witkoff to Moscow

However, Zelenskyy also stressed that any ceasefire must not mean international recognition of Russian control over the occupied territories. As The Telegraph points out,"Ukraine's constitution does not allow the president or parliament to unilaterally change the country's territorial integrity or to accept its violation."

Only a quarter of Ukrainians want to fight Russia to the bitter end, according to a Gallup poll released on Thursday, a figure that reflects a sharp decline in public confidence in Ukraine's military victory, according to The Telegraph.

Polish portal Onet reported that US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, allegedly presented a proposal during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin that would not include a peace agreement, but a ceasefire. According to this version, Russia's territorial gains would be de facto recognized, with the final decision postponed for 49 or 99 years, most sanctions against Russia would be lifted, and an energy partnership would be restored in the future, including the import of Russian gas and oil.

According to Onet, however, the proposal lacked any guarantees about NATO non-proliferation, as well as a commitment to end military support for Ukraine.

Putin may offer a compromise

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Putin may offer Trump a plan under which the West would recognize Russian control over part of the occupied territory in exchange for the withdrawal of Russian troops from other parts of Ukraine. Trump, who is eager for a deal, could urge Ukraine and its allies to accept the plan, the WSJ reported.

Former Slovak MiG-29 destroys Russian drone command center with GBU-39 guided bombs

According to information published by Air Fighter on Telegram, the target of the attack was a command post from which the Russians coordinated drone operations. Ukrainian forces discovered it hidden in a strip of vegetation. The MiG-29 approached the target at a low flight to avoid radar detection, and then performed a sharp climb, during which it dropped guided bombs. Immediately, the pilot turned back and returned to the home base. The fighters recorded the entire action on video./Source: air_fighter_ / Instagram
