On the morning of September 3, a grand ceremony was held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing to commemorate the occasion. With an imposing military parade, China joined the peoples of the world in commemorating this historic day and building an even brighter future. Sixty-one foreign heads of state and government, high-level representatives of relevant countries, leaders of international organizations, and former officials attended the event.

Since the founding of New China, we have never started a war or invaded a single inch of other countries' territory. China is the only nation in the world that has enshrined in its Constitution a commitment to peaceful development and the only nuclear power to promise not to be the first to use nuclear weapons. The country firmly upholds the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, being the largest provider of peacekeeping troops among the permanent members of the Security Council and the second-largest contributor to the UN Peacekeeping Forces budget, making a notable contribution to the maintenance of world peace.
