The representative to the House for Radical Change, Lina María Garrido, did not remain silent and responded forcefully to the Minister of the Interior, Armando Benedetti, who announced legal action against her for the crimes of libel and slander.

Lina María Garrido, due to her bad faith, inaccuracies and lies in the media and on social networks, I have criminally reported her for libel and slander,” Benedetti wrote through his X account.

The congresswoman bluntly responded on the same social network with a defiant message: “ Paint them, Minister.”

The clash between the two arose after Garrido recalled an incident involving the minister in an alleged case of gender-based violence that occurred in Madrid, Spain, while he was with his wife. Following this, the representative launched harsh accusations.

“Respect Colombia; the only ‘coffee shop’ here is you, drug addict and woman-beater. And don’t even think about threatening me with a knife, like you did to your wife in Spain: it would go badly for you; I’ll stand up to you,” Garrido wrote.
