PM Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha: Clearing the stance on Operation Sindoor ceasefire, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that Pakistan begged for a ceasefire on May 10. The Opposition has repeatedly questioned the Indian government over US President Donald Trump’s remarks that he got the two sides to cease fire by promising a trade deal.

PM Modi, however, clarified what happened from May 7-10, saying “no world leader asked to stop the attack".

The PM said that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Pakistan Forces had an idea that India would indeed take major action. They started making nuclear threats. “On the intervening night of 6-7 May, India took action just as decided. Pakistan could not do anything. Our armed forces avenged 22nd April within 22 minutes with precision attacks."

“When the surgical strike happened, we aimed to enter and destroy their launching pads. During Balakot, we aimed to destroy terrorist training centres. During Operation Sindoor, our aim was to destroy the terror epicentre. Some people knowingly want to forget things….On May 6-7, the Indian Army clearly said that our aim was terrorists and their camps. We achieved it," said the PM.

The PM said, “Pakistan stood with the terrorists. We told the world our aim was terrorists and terror camps. When Pakistan aided the terrorists, we gave them a reply which they will not forget in the times to come. Our missiles attacked Pakistan in a way that they could not even imagine. We brought them to their knees."

“Pakistan then called our DGMO and requested to stop….said bahut mara ab jyada maar jhelne ki takat nahi hai, please hamla rok do….this was Pakistani DGMO. We said on Day One itself, our action is not acceleratory…No world leader asked to stop the attack," the PM said on the ceasefire.

He further added: “After the attack, even their mastermind can’t sleep well at night. They know that India will return and hit harder (Bharat aayega aur maar kar jayega). This is the new normal that has been set by India. ‘Sindoor se leke Sindhu tak’, we have taken action against Pakistan."

“India has proved that nuclear blackmailing will not work anymore and neither will India bow down to this nuclear blackmailing. We struck Pakistan precisely on the chest. Pakistan’s airbases and assets have suffered heavy damage. And to date, many of their airbases are in the ICU. This is the era of technology-based war. If we had not made the preparations that we have done in the last 10 years, then we could imagine how much loss we could have suffered in this era of technology," said the PM.
