Today around 3 pm in the Novi Sad settlement of Detelinara, a child and a woman were injured when a tree fell during a storm.

An eight-year-old girl and a forty-one-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and were immediately transferred to the surgical department.

Dacic called on citizens to be careful

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic stated that all fire and rescue units are on the ground, as well as the Helicopter unit due to the large number of fires and strong storms that have engulfed Serbia and called on citizens to be careful and behave responsibly.

- All the human and technical capacities of the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are engaged in extinguishing a large number of fires that have engulfed Serbia. Yesterday there were 197 fires, and today that number has already exceeded 200.

- The situation is extremely difficult, and at the same time other parts of Serbia were affected by a storm with rain, hail and strong wind. All fire and rescue units are on the ground, as well as the helicopter unit. We call on all citizens to be careful and behave responsibly, in order to reduce the possibility of the human factor being the cause of the fire - Minister Dacic said.

Caution is advised because in the given conditions disasters can develop very quickly, so regular monitoring of radar images, announcements and warnings is recommended.

RHMZ has issued a weather warning for Tuesday:

For specific locations, emergency warnings will be issued one to two hours in advance - according to the RHMZ.

On page 192, it was announced that the wind knocked down a tree on the fence of the Novi Sad - Subotica railway, near Stepanović.

Gray clouds also hung over Novi Sad, where a strong wind felled a tree in Maksim Gorkogi Street.

The wind also broke trees on Podbara in Novi Sad.

A strong storm, a strong storm wind and a downpour hit the town of Zrenjanin a little after 2 pm today.

The wind broke branches from trees, and because of the rain, water remained on the roads. Shafts and drains were blocked due to leaves previously blown by the wind, RTS reports and adds that the first estimates are that about 10 liters of rain fell per square meter.

It rained for about twenty minutes, and very soon after that the wind calmed down.

New warning from RHMZ

RHMZ in the latest emergency announcement states that throughout the Banat in the next hour there will be a continuation of showers with thunder, which will be locally accompanied by hail and strong, and sometimes stormy, winds.

The showers and thunderstorms that are expected in the area of Vojvodina, western and central Serbia today and tomorrow (July 7 and 8) will occasionally be accompanied by hail and stormy winds, states the RHMZ.

RHMZ issued an emergency warning

RHMZ has issued an urgent warning for showers and storms in parts of Serbia.

- Except in Bačka, in the next 2 hours the local development of clouds will cause short-term heavy showers, hail and strong wind in the region of central and northern Banat - states the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute in its urgent warning from 13.55 hours.

The stormy beast hits Serbia from two directions

A cold front bringing heavy rain and stormy winds has arrived in the Balkans. The first countries to be hit are Slovenia and Croatia, where the storm has already hit the capital Zagreb, and numerous warnings have been issued for the rest of the country.

According to data from the Weather and Radar website, the storm is coming to Serbia from two directions:

1. From Croatia
2. From Bosnia and Herzegovina

The storm front from Croatia will hit Vojvodina, from where it will move towards Hungary, while the clouds from Bosnia and Herzegovina will move towards Belgrade.

The heat wave ends tomorrow.

On Tuesday (07/08) the end of the heat wave with two penetrations of moist and unstable air. The first penetration, which will affect the north-west of Vojvodina already in the morning and before noon, from the middle of the day will cause showers and thunderstorms throughout the province, as well as in western and central Serbia with a tendency to move to the east.
