Poland on high alert

Poland has been on high alert for objects entering its airspace since a stray Ukrainian missile hit the village of Przewodów in southern Poland in 2022, killing two people.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Polish Government and Minister of Defense, Władysław Kościńska-Kamiś, confirmed that the drone that crashed in Poland overnight is now believed to have originated in Russia.

Russia is once again provoking NATO countries, following the drone incidents that occurred in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia, he said.

This comes at a particularly critical time, when peace talks are underway. It comes at a time when there is hope that the war that Russia started, a war against the Ukrainian state, but also a war that threatens the security of NATO countries, has a chance to end.
