Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced on Friday that he had instructed the army to prepare an"operational plan against Iran," which includes maintaining air superiority, preventing Tehran from making progress in its nuclear program and missile production, and responding to its support for activities hostile to Israel.
Katz's instructions came after 12 days of clashes between Israel and Iran, which resulted in human and material losses, before US President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire.
Katz noted that during the war, which began on June 13, the Israeli army worked to"neutralize Iran's defense systems," "destroy missile production facilities," and "inflict severe damage on launch pads."
He stated that "the top security leadership and prominent scientists who contributed to the advancement of Iran's nuclear program were eliminated."
He pointed out that the military operation against Iran, codenamed"Rising Lion," "was merely a prelude to a new Israeli policy," asserting that "no one has immunity."
