Iran: Used new type of rocket

At least ten Israelis died in last night's Iranian missile attack after direct hits on residential buildings.

35 people are missing and 200 are injured.

Among the dead are several children – one of them is Hala, 13.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, the alarm was raised about a massive Iranian missile attack.

In the cellphone footage that was spread on social media, it looked like a beautiful shower of stars was falling over Israel.

But it was a rain that spread death.

Over 50 rockets have been fired at Israel. According to Iran, they have used a new type of ballistic missile, writes CNN.

Iranian Defense Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh reportedly said in early May that a new rocket had been developed that could bypass Israel's air defenses.

"The new ballistic missile is equipped with an advanced navigation system that allows it to hit precise targets," he is said to have said, according to the state-owned Iranian news agency Tasnim, writes CNN.

Mother and two daughters

One of the rockets hit a residential building in the Arab-majority town of Tamra in northern Israel, where the Khatib family lives, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Five people died, including Manar al-Qasem Abu al-Heija Khatib and her two daughters Hala, 13, and Shada, 20.

The newspaper Ynet has spoken to one of the neighbors in the house.

"We were in the living room watching TV when the rocket hit. Everything collapsed, furniture, the whole house. We were saved as if by a miracle," says Hamoudi, who only gave his first name.

Previously, the population of the city has warned the authorities that there are no proper shelters in the city, according to the Times of Israel.

The people had nowhere to hide from the rockets.

At least 28 people were injured in northern Israel.

Many are missing

In Bat Yam, a coastal city in central Israel, an apartment building was hit by a rocket.

Currently, two women, a 10-year-old boy, and an 8-year-old boy are confirmed dead in Bat Yam, according to the Jerusalem Post.

In total, at least 10 people have died, according to Israeli media.

Over 130 people are reported to be injured in central Israel, including an infant who is being treated at the local hospital.

In addition, it is suspected that 35 missing people may be under the rubble.

Rescue workers are now working against time to get as many people out as possible before it's too late.

Since yesterday, 78 people have been reported dead in Iran. Over 500 people are reported to have been injured after Israel's attacks.
