Feverish search for the Kirk assassin: The FBI has now released photos of a person of interest in connection with the shooting of Charlie Kirk and is asking the public for information.

The photos show a person wearing a cap and sunglasses. Is this the assassin? Unclear! The only thing that's certain so far is that the FBI considers him a"person of interest."

Murder weapon found

Following the fatal attack on the well-known Trump supporter, investigators also say they have found the murder weapon used to shoot Kirk on Wednesday."It's a high-powered bolt action rifle," said FBI agent Robert Bohls on Thursday in Orem, Utah. The weapon was discovered in a wooded area where the perpetrator apparently fled.

High-powered bolt-action rifles—also called repeating rifles—are used for hunting big game or as precision weapons by military snipers. They allow for hitting targets from long distances. According to investigators' current assessment, Kirk was fatally wounded in the neck from a distance of approximately 180 meters. The attack occurred during a performance on the campus of Utah Valley University.

Report: Ammunition with “transgender engraving”

The Wall Street Journal also reports that the weapon was an older model hunting rifle, which was allegedly wrapped in a towel. There were three unfired cartridges in the magazine. The well-informed Wall Street Journal reports that the ammunition was allegedly engraved with"transgender expressions" and "anti-fascist ideology."

“Predatory Freaks”

When Kirk was shot in the neck, he was being asked a question about transgender assassins, reported former Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz, who was present at the event. Kirk had repeatedly made derogatory comments about trans activists. In 2023, he stated on"The Charlie Kirk Show": "So, essentially, we're forcing 50% of the population to have their social lives dominated by disgusting, mentally ill, neurotic, predatory freaks."

It's still unclear who murdered Kirk; the FBI is looking for a "student-aged" person. The rifle is now being analyzed, as are suspected footprints and handprints of the shooter.

US President Donald Trump expressed his shock at Kirk's death, writing that no one understood the youth of the United States better than Kirk, who leaves behind his wife and two young children."He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now he is no longer with us," the US President emphasized.
