Israel receives body of Gaza hostage from Red Cross

Israel announced this evening that the Red Cross handed over to its forces in the Gaza Strip the body of a hostage, which was returned as part of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, which provides for the return of all hostages, alive and dead.

“Israel received, through the Red Cross, the coffin of a deceased hostage that was handed over to the army and the Shin Bet (Israeli internal security service) inside the Gaza Strip,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement, adding that the body would be transferred to Israel for identification.
