Chaos before the concert begins

Just before the start of Thompson's concert, several men lit torches and started throwing them on the Sava Embankment, where they started three small fires and continued to do so until the police arrived.

About a dozen police officers arrived at the scene, and the men got lost in the crowd before they were found.

Firefighters arrived first on four-wheelers, and after a few minutes a unit in a truck arrived to put out the fire.

Mass glorification of the Ustasha

Since the early hours of the morning in Croatia, large crowds have been recorded on the roads, Croatian media reports.

Everyone wears black clothes, berets, Croatian flags and t-shirts with Croatian motifs and shout:"Ready for home!"

Many songs at his concerts begin with the Ustasha greeting "Ready for home".

The lyrics of his songs celebrate the history of NDH and the action of the Storm.

There will be over 6,000 policemen on the field

Security expert Tonći Prodan says that this is an unprecedented event.

- Such a gathering carries with it a number of natural and anthropogenic risks - from health problems and heat stroke, to possible diversions, fires or other incidents. Fortunately, everything was thoroughly analyzed and included in the security plan, Prodan said.

He pointed out that there will be more than 6,000 policemen on the ground, or about 14,000 people involved in logistics and security.

- There will be detailed controls at the entrance, only transparent backpacks and bags are allowed, and everything will be inspected. It is forbidden to bring in large bags and potentially dangerous items, he explained.

- The police will have the right to inspect smaller bags that will be allowed to be brought in, he added.

"Use SMS messages instead of calls"

He especially appealed to citizens to use mobile phones as little as possible during the event.

- Due to the huge number of people, network overload is possible. We ask citizens that, if they must communicate, use SMS messages to avoid blocking communication with emergency services, he said.

As for the citizens of Zagreb who do not go to the concert, they are provided with reinforced locations for on-call during Saturday and Sunday in health centers, said Bubaš and asked citizens to find information about the locations on the city's website.

- It is very important to have an identity document with you. And the most important thing, if you are a visitor to the event, you are in the immediate vicinity of the Hippodrome, on the Hippodrome or on Bundek, don't call 112. We are there for you, and for the citizens of the city of Zagreb who are not at the event - for them the number is 112, she stressed.

Austrian authorities: "Avoid Zagreb"

By the way, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna issued a warning before the mentioned concert for Austrian citizens traveling to Croatia, with a message to follow the advice and recommendations of the authorities.

As the media reports, on the official website for ticket sales it is written that tickets for the ground floor at Thompson's concert are incredibly cheap. According to information from the official website, the price for two tickets for the ground floor (the part in front of the stage where about 300,000 people stand) is only 193 dinars, which means that one ticket costs about 96 dinars.
