Russian Military Attacks on Ukraine

Critical Perspectives on Trump's Actions

What Ukraine offers the US

It is noted that after the settlement of the war between Israel and Hamas, D. Trump can focus all his attention on pressure on Russia. Already on October 17, V. Zelensky will meet with the US President at the White House to discuss air defense, long-range weapons and energy assistance.

Sources told reporters that ahead of Zelensky's visit to Washington, Ukraine offered to share its expertise in technology and drone production with the United States in exchange for American weapons and energy supplies. This includes advanced negotiations on a deal under which Ukrainian drones made in the United States or Europe would be exported back to the United States for use by the US armed forces.

"We have begun negotiations on a unique technology exchange agreement that will provide the United States with access to Ukraine's most advanced drone technology. This partnership is not only a strategic advantage for Ukraine, but also a real contribution to the security of the United States and its allies around the world," said Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Olha Stefanyshyna.

Bloomberg sources also noted that US and Ukrainian officials are also discussing the possibility of exporting liquefied natural gas from the US to Ukraine. They said that Zelensky will reiterate this request during his meeting with Trump and, in return, may offer US oil companies access to Ukrainian pipeline infrastructure for exports to Slovakia and Hungary.

In addition, the agency's interlocutors shared information that Ukrainian officials have also offered US companies cheap storage of liquefied natural gas in vast underground Ukrainian storage facilities, in an effort to help increase US energy exports to Europe.

Who will pay for US military aid?

The agency stressed that one of the main questions at the moment remains who will pay for the additional US military assistance. Washington has made it clear to its European allies that they will be the ones to pay for these costs.

A Ukrainian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told reporters that seven countries are planning to participate in financing further arms shipments to Ukraine under the PURL program. He said two shipments have already been delivered and two more are in the pipeline.

In addition, the Ukrainian official said that Ukraine may loosen military controls on the export of military equipment, which could lead to the supply of Ukrainian naval drones. He added that four non-Western countries have expressed interest in becoming potential buyers of these weapons.

Trump plans to create a"victory fund" for Ukraine - what is known

The Telegraph previously reported that US President Donald Trump is working on creating a "Ukraine Victory Fund" that will be financed by new tariffs on China.

It is noted that D. Trump instructed US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant to discuss this plan with European colleagues before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington on October 17. The publication emphasized that the US president is increasingly losing patience with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.
