Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ukraine and Russia can to agree on a ceasefire soon. He stressed that the signing of the peace agreement could take place in Turkey, writes Hurriyet.

Erdogan said Turkey has stepped up diplomatic efforts for peace while crises and wars continue in neighboring countries. He added that Ankara is pursuing a policy of peace in the Russia-Ukraine war.

"We believe that this war must end. Just as the negotiating table was set in Istanbul, the peace table will be set in Turkey in the near future - and this bloody war will be ended," the Turkish president said.

Erdogan also recalled that during the third round of negotiations in Istanbul, the Ukrainian and Russian delegations agreed on a new prisoner exchange.
