Trump-Putin Summit and Ukraine's Concerns

Trump's Approach to Russia and Ukraine

"The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, had a telephone conversation today with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during which he reaffirmed Romania's support for a just and lasting peace, which cannot be built without Ukraine, without respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and without the Ukrainian people freely deciding their future. President Dan assured President Zelensky that, together with European and transatlantic partners, they will continue to support Ukraine for a secure, stable and democratic future in the region," the Presidential Administration announced.

Nicușor Dan also wrote about this discussion on the X network.

"I presented my point of view, namely that we need a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine, so that the atrocities committed daily by Russia cease. Romania supports President Trump's efforts to reach a solution. The agreement must be fair, lasting and sustainable. Peace with Ukraine must be achieved at the negotiating table. Romania supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. As a neighbor and partner, Romania will continue to stand by Ukraine in all efforts to reach a just peace for the Ukrainian people," wrote President Nicușor Dan.

He announced that he had accepted President Zelensky's invitation to visit Kyiv this fall.
