Just before Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran last Friday, it was revealed that the US sent hundreds of missiles to the Tel Aviv administration. According to an exclusive report by Middle East Eye (MEE), the Washington administration delivered around 300 Hellfire missiles to Israel just three days before the attack.
According to the report, based on two US officials, this secret weapons shipment clearly shows that the Trump administration was aware of Israel’s attack plans against Iran in advance. At the same time, the Trump administration publicly announced that it was ready to resume nuclear negotiations with Iran.
It was noted that this shipment, which was made quietly, had not been reported anywhere before.
WHY HELLFIRE MISSILE?
Hellfire missiles are known as laser-guided, air-to-ground type precision strike ammunition. They are preferred not for destroying nuclear facilities, but rather for point-based assassinations and command center-targeted attacks.
"The time and place where these missiles would be used were clear. They were very functional for Israel," a senior US defense official told MEE.
WHAT HAPPENED?
More than 100 military aircraft took part in Israel’s attack on Iran on Friday, which was described as a pinpoint operation targeting senior Iranian military officials, nuclear scientists and command centers.
Experts stated that this operation was planned in advance and that the procurement of precision missile systems such as Hellfire before the attack was part of this preparation.
