In April, we will officially end the Gyurcsány-Orbán era, and the next day we will wake up in a new country. A place where it turns out that politics can also be useful – Péter Magyar stated in his speech on October 23rd. The politician spoke at the packed Heroes' Square at the end of the National March that started from Deák Ferenc Square, and many people listened to him from Andrássy Avenue.

The chairman of the Tisza Party promised that in the first days of the new government, among other things, the independence of the investigative authorities will be restored, Hungary will join the European Public Prosecutor's Office, national assets will be recovered, the agent files will be opened, and a law on national reconciliation will be submitted. According to Péter Magyar,"it is not Hungarians against Hungarians, but 3-4 thousand political criminals or even oligarchs" who are trying to incite people against each other.

He promised to adopt a new child protection law, as well as unilaterally confirm the country's EU and NATO membership, strengthen border protection, introduce a wealth tax for billionaires, launch a tax reduction program, increase pensions, stop state propaganda, and restore the independence of state-run public media.

According to Péter Magyar, Hungarians will answer the following questions, among others, in the April election:

East or West? Corruption or honor? Turkic Council or Europe? Propaganda or truth? Inhumanity or humanity? Colony or free Hungary? Fidesz or Tisza?

The Tisza will win this election, not by a little, but by a lot,” said Péter Magyar. He asked everyone, despite the “incitements”, to preserve “Hungary’s more humane face” and not to give in to provocations. We will need humility, humanity, work and a large dose of patriotism,” he said.

The chairman of the Tisza Party also announced that a nationwide tour titled"The Road to Victory" will begin on November 5, and that the less than"six bitter months" remaining until the election will have to be endured somehow. He then claimed that he would also offer a peace treaty to the ruling party:"Let's imagine the day when, under the flag, not separation, but togetherness is born," he said.

During his speech, he repeatedly addressed Viktor Orbán and the ruling party politicians. For example, he said that the Hungarian nation can only be free and independent if the country's leaders"do not beg the leaders of other nations for a propaganda photo or two." He also said that the Hungarian prime minister contradicted his speech in 1989, and it later turned out that the only problem with the previous system was that he was not in control of it. The politician who demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops then is now an ally of the Kremlin, he noted.

At one point, he also noted that although the revolution was betrayed by “Balázs Orbán’s role models,” they could not extinguish the flames of freedom. “Today, we are not Fidesz or Tisza, not leftists or rightists, but all Hungarians,” explained Péter Magyar, who believes that freedom is worth more than becoming a henchman of another nation for any interest. Red-white-green: these are our national colors, we cannot tolerate those whose only colors are white, the color of complete surrender.”

During the speech, he recalled the events of the 1956 revolution at length, and on several occasions drew parallels between the actions of the “Pest boys and girls” and the current policies of the Orbán government. “World politics is not built on solidarity, we learned that in 1956. How helpless it is to watch when Washington and Moscow wink at each other above our heads,” he said.
