The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General, vowed on Saturday to respond to any new threat targeting Iran.
"We have devised a plan to make the enemy miserable and paralyzed according to the first order of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, and if he attacks Iran again, he will witness what we will do, and in this case, the United States may not be able to save Netanyahu," Mousavi said in a statement carried by Tasnim news agency.
He continued:"The enemies have been planning this war that they imposed on us for the past fifteen years."
He explained: "The enemies organized and trained infiltrators and spies inside Iran, and prepared a well-thought-out plan, but they miscalculated regarding the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the people, and the combat capability of our country's armed forces."
He added,"The nuclear issue was a pretext to launch an aggression against Iran and eliminate the regime within 48 hours to a week, and dismantle the Islamic regime, but the Iranian people won."
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz had confirmed that "the army will ensure that Iran does not threaten Israel again after the war in which the two countries faced aggression for 12 days in June."
Katz affirmed in a statement that the Israeli army will develop a "plan to ensure that Iran no longer threatens Israel," adding that the army must be "ready on the intelligence and operational levels to ensure the air force's air superiority over Tehran."
These statements come after a 12-day air war between the two sides last June. Israel and Iran agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire, which ended the fighting on June 24.
