At least 69 people have died in flash floods in the US state of Texas.

This was reported by The Guardian with reference to local authorities, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that 59 people died in Kerr County due to the bad weather - including 38 adults and 21 children.

The remaining dead are residents of other counties in the state.

Eleven campers and one counselor from the Mystic Christian summer camp, located along a river in Kerr County, are still missing, officials said.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt announcedthat US President Donald Trump has approved a disaster declaration for Kerr County.

"I have just signed a Major Disaster Declaration for Kerr County, Texas to ensure our brave first responders receive the resources they need immediately. Families are experiencing an incredible tragedy - many have died, many are missing. The Trump Administration continues to work closely with state and local leaders... Our incredible U.S. Coast Guard, along with our state rescuers, have already saved over 850 lives," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

As reported, on Friday heavy rains caused flash flooding along the Guadalupe River in south-central Texas.

Earlier, at least 51 deaths were reported due to flash floods in Texas.

President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to US President Donald Trump and the American people over the deadly floods in Texas.
