On Pokrovsky direction Ukrainian troops are countering attempts by Russian forces to gain a foothold, and there are successes. About this declared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had held a Stavka, which discussed three key issues.

"The front, in particular the Pokrovsky direction. We are countering the attempts of Russian forces to gain a foothold and increasing the pressure of our units on the occupier. We are having success," he noted.

According to the head of state, units of the 79th and 82nd airborne assault brigades are operating very effectively in the Dobropillya direction.

"Today, there is a decision to further strengthen this and other areas in the Donetsk region. Special attention is paid to positions in the Zaporizhia region," Zelenskyy said.

The president stressed that the Russian army continues to suffer significant losses,"trying to secure more favorable political positions for the Russian leadership at the meeting in Alaska."

"We understand this plan, we inform partners about the real situation," he noted.

In addition, the issue of developing the contract system in the Defense Forces and financing the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine in 2025-2026 was considered.

"Under any circumstances, our army will be ready to effectively and quickly respond to threats to Ukrainian statehood. The priority is the development of the contract army," Zelenskyy noted.

He added that he expects an intelligence report today on the current intentions of the Russian side and its preparations for the meeting in Alaska.

"The stakes are really high. The main thing is that this meeting opens up the possibility of a real path to an honest peace and a substantive conversation between leaders in a trilateral format: Ukraine, the United States, the Russian side. It is time to end the war, and appropriate steps must be taken by Russia. We hope for America. We are ready, as always, to work as productively as possible," the president emphasized.
