Maj. Gen. Nat Sri-in, Deputy Commander of the Second Army Area, revealed that Cambodia has become stronger after the fighting in 2011. He declared that although we have launched air strikes many times, they are still able to survive. He confirmed that the military is fully prepared to protect the sovereignty of the Thai nation. He urged the people of the nation to unite and agree that differences are acceptable, but they must not be divided. On July 31, 2025, at the Ruam Rueng Chai Club, Suranaree Camp, Second Army Area, Maj. Gen. Nat Sri-in, Deputy Commander of the Second Army Area, represented Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the Second Army Area, to receive supplies from Thai citizens who brought supplies to the Thai soldiers on the front lines. It is a stream of kindness that has flowed to the border from both government agencies and the private sector, including monks, citizens, and students. Many have come together to deliver consumer goods to soldiers who have sacrificed themselves to protect the country in the Thai-Cambodian border area.

Major General Nat Sri-in, Deputy Commander of Army Area 2, said that in the past, Army Area 2 Commander has closely commanded personnel of various units on the battlefield, shoulder to shoulder with every soldier.

Our soldiers have a duty to protect the sovereignty of the nation. If it were not during a crisis, the people might not see its importance clearly. Some might think,"Huh, what are the soldiers for?" Some might even think to the point of having to reduce the number of soldiers, even the purchase of weapons and equipment might be seen as a waste of the budget because they see that nowadays there are no threats, no enemies, no war.

This year's situation will show Thai people that "a world of peace does not exist." Examples include the clashes between Israel and Iran, events in Iraq or Syria, or those between Ukraine and Russia, or even the conflict in the South China Sea. Previously, we might have considered them distant matters. But when there are incidents close to our neighboring countries, leading to clashes between Thailand and Cambodia, we can see that conflicts have always existed. This may be because information has not been disclosed in the past. Some military information cannot be disclosed because it could harm the army or the nation. This has caused many other sectors, including the general public, to misunderstand. In the past, the army would use preliminary negotiations with neighboring countries before any problems arose. This is because they do not want people from both nations to become enemies. They have attempted to use peaceful means to negotiate and have tried to be as patient and restrained as possible.

Major General Nat Sri-in, Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Area, said that Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area, has been trying to resolve the situation all along, even to the point of having to use military force, despite our superior military strength and equipment. But there were losses on both sides.

Cambodia recently went through a civil war. I have been living on the border since I graduated. I am from Surin and can speak Khmer. I have been in the area since the beginning, since the Cambodian conflict broke out within the country. I went in to help fight and evacuate the Khmer people whose families were torn apart. Until 1997, I went in to help create reconciliation in Cambodia to be one. Then in 2011, the Cambodian forces became stronger and turned to fight with Thailand. Then, 14 years later, in 2025, Cambodia dared to fight us again.

“Each time in the past, they have become stronger. This time, we used air forces to attack many times, but they still survived. So we have to review the shortcomings of Thai people. When there is war, we will unite to fight. But when the event is over, we will fight among ourselves. Differences of opinion are normal, but we must not let differences of opinion lead to division. We have been divided for a long time. Where are we bad? We should fix it. All Thai people have a role to play in helping to fix it.”

However, The military confirmed its full readiness to protect Thailand's sovereignty and strive to minimize the harm to the nation's people. They thanked the Thai people for their heartfelt support and contributions to border soldiers. Following this, they will attend the royal cremation ceremony for brave soldiers and offer support to the families of those who sacrificed their lives for their country.
