"This is one of the retaliatory strikes against the terrorist attacks on Russian military airfields by the Kiev regime," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a press release.
It was also indicated that Ukrainian military enterprises, drone assembly workshops, and AFU ammunition and weapons warehouses were damaged.
"The objective of the attacks has been achieved. All planned targets have been hit," the ministry added.
According to the AFU Air Force Command, Russian troops carried out a massive strike on Ukraine on the night of June 9, using 499 drones and missiles. The Ukrainian armed forces announced that they neutralized 479 air targets. Yuri Ignat, a spokesman for the AFU Air Force, said that the main strike by Russian forces was aimed at one of the operational airfields. Rivne regional authorities confirmed the Russian missile and drone attack on the region, but did not report in detail about its consequences.
