After a short break, storms are already appearing across Slovenia in the afternoon, and more can be expected in the evening. In the evening, we expect the storms that are occurring in Croatia to spread to the Slovenian side - that is, to the south and east of the country. During the storms, there is still a risk of hail and gusts of wind, but the most problems will be caused by heavy local downpours, which may be quite stationary in some places due to the location of the high-altitude core and changes in winds, they wrote on Neurje.si.

They added that this means the possibility of flash floods and overflowing watercourses, especially in the triangle between Novo mesto, Zagreb and Karlovac, where an exceptional amount of precipitation may fall until Sunday.

Due to heavy rain, the Slovenian Environmental Agency (Arso) has issued an orange warning for tonight and tomorrow for the eastern part of the country.

Arso also announced in the afternoon that they had recorded heavier downpours at the Miklavž station in Gorjanci. Between 17:00 and 17:30, 22 mm of rain fell there, they wrote, adding that in the coming hours, stronger storms will occur mainly in the south of the country.
