Olivier Nkamuai had another 15 points and five rebounds, while Mikael Jantunen had 13 points, six steals, and seven assists, nearly giving Finland the win in the end after Valtonen's missed free throw.

In the Greek team, Giannis Antetokounmpo demonstrated his leadership role in the first minutes, whom the Finns were able to stop only with rule violations. In the first 20 minutes, Antetokounmpo scored 16 points, half of them from the field, the other half from the free throw line.

In contrast, Finland's biggest star Lauri Markkanen only scored his first points of the game late in the first quarter. Mīka Mūrinen's energetic play at one point allowed Finland to close the gap to within one point, but before the halftime break, Greece had a solid lead (48:34).

In the third quarter, the Greek lead was cut to six points at one point, but by the end of the tenth minute they had regained a more secure lead. In the final quarter, the Finns managed to break the momentum in the final minutes and 54 seconds before the end of regulation, after Olivier Nkamuai's long-range shot, the teams were separated by four points - 86:82 in favor of Greece.

Antetokounmpo responded with a three-pointer and regained a more stable lead for his team, but Markkanen ended the Finns' rapid attack with a precise long-range shot over Jannis' hands (85:89). 20 seconds before the final whistle, Miro Little stepped to the free throw line and brought the Finns closer to minus two points.

Markkanen fouled Kostas Sluka, who converted one of two"penalties". After the second, Markkanen won the ball and at the end of the counterattack, Kostas Papanikolaou violated the rules on Elias Valtonen while executing a long-range shot. The Finn executed three free throws with five seconds left in regulation, missing the last of them.

The ball was won by Antetokounmpo, who was fouled. The Greek leader made both free throws and secured the victory for his team.

At 9 p.m., Germany and Turkey will begin the fight for the gold medal.

In the semifinals on Friday, Germany defeated Finland 98:86, while Turkey defeated Greece 94:68.

The Latvian national team finished the European Championship in 12th place after losing in the round of 16.

The European Championship final tournament featured 24 teams divided into four groups in Riga, Tampere, Katowice and Limassol. The top four teams from each group qualified for the play-off tournament in Riga, where the medal winners were determined on Sunday.
