"I think we have him with a high degree of certainty," Trump said during a live interview with Fox & Friends revealing that the suspect is believed to be in custody. He said he learned of the news just minutes before the interview.

"Someone very close to him betrayed him," the president said, but he did not identify the suspect. It should be recalled that the federal police FBI has announced a $100,000 reward for information on the shooter and, together with the governor of Utah, has asked the public for cooperation.
"I hope he's found guilty and gets the death penalty. What he did - Charlie Kirk was the best man and he didn't deserve this," Trump said.

Authorities and sources told The Post that the suspect allegedly fired a single shot from an elevated position—about 200 yards from the tent where Kirk, 31, was sitting. The conservative influencer jerked and clutched his neck in pain, sending thousands of spectators into a panic.
