This morning, businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego gave a speech at the 75th anniversary ceremony of the Elektra company, where he spoke about the murder of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, which occurred on November 1st in Michoacán.

"He became the eleventh mayor, and one more statistic in the death toll that plagues our country, eighty, one hundred deaths a day, what could be more important than that, and that's why I say it's a sad day because of the situation that's coming our way," he said.

Salinas Pliego added that this is also a day of joy because Elektra, which began in 1950, was the result of a business started by his father and grandfather.

"If you want to be rich, sell to those who have the least," Salinas Pliego recounted, adding that his grandfather advised him,"and it's great advice my grandfather gave me."

He recounted that his grandfather always taught him the importance of the customer, that's why"today marks 75 years of happy moments [...] they come to us because we create happy moments."

He declared that whoever does not work, produce, and pay taxes is a social parasite,"just like all governments." He affirmed that "the nature of man as a parasite" is nothing new.

He asserted that this was what happened to Carlos Manzo,"a victim of parasites, a victim of parasitic man."
