The IDF announced on Friday that the bodies of the murdered Ilan Weiss, as well as another hostage whose identity has not been provided, have been found, The Times of Israel reported.
Shtivi (28), whose identity was confirmed today, was killed at the Nova music festival during a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
He was a lover of nature and photography, and he studied at Reichmann University in the city of Herzliya.
Netanyahu called Stivius"a man of great courage and heart".
"On October 7, 2023, he participated in the Nova festival, and when the terrorist attack began, he saved many festival participants," Netanyahu added.
Stiv was kidnapped by members of Hamas during a festival he was photographing as a volunteer.
When the attack began, he and two friends left by car, but the terrorists stopped them on the road leading to the north.
Shtivi then tried to head south, but ran off the road and lost control of the vehicle, hitting a tree, The Times of Israel reported.
He was last seen at that location, and a car was later found with blood stains and bullet holes, and the bodies of his friends were found at the scene.
Defense Minister Izrael Katz sent his deepest condolences to the family of the hostage and paid tribute to his courage.
Netanyahu and Katz have promised to return the remaining 48 hostages, of whom 20 are believed to be still alive.
