Critical Analysis of the Peace Plan

"Any peace plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine initiated by the Russian Federation must be accepted in Kyiv. Ukraine has fallen victim to Putin's criminal aggression and Ukrainians, with the support of the United States and EU countries, must have the decisive voice in the peace talks," the Polish president's post reads.

"Any decisions regarding peace and security in Europe can only be made with the participation of all interested parties," added Karol Nawrocki.

"The price for peace cannot in any way be the achievement of strategic goals by the aggressor, and the aggressor was and is the Russian Federation," he wrote.

Plan to End the War: US Peace Terms

Information on the assumptions of the 28-point US peace plan was published by Axios. Americans expect, among other things, a declaration that Russia will not invade neighboring countries. Ukraine is to receive solid security guarantees while relinquishing part of its territory.

The plan also includes a provision stipulating that Ukraine will have to record in its constitution its lack of aspirations to join NATO. In return, it will have an open path to the European Union.

Under the American plan, Ukraine will be obligated to hold elections within 100 days. Russia, in turn, will be" reintegrated into the global economy," and Washington will sign a long-term economic cooperation agreement with Moscow.

According to Axios reports, the details of a possible agreement were worked out during October talks between Vladimir Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev and Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff in Miami.

Politico reported that this plan was not consulted with either the Ukrainian side or European countries. Nevertheless, its provisions raised issues regarding the participation of both the European Union and Poland.
