The Russian authorities are not ready for any compromise in the process of negotiations to end the war if it does not provide an opportunity to completely defeat Ukraine, believes the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts noted statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in which he repeated the thoughts expressed by Russian and Belarusian dictators Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko at a joint press conference the day before.
First of all, Lavrov again accused the Ukrainian side of obstructing the negotiation process, saying that President Volodymyr Zelensky is constantly changing his conditions for the start of negotiations and a ceasefire.
The Russian foreign minister also reiterated the Kremlin's position on key demands for Ukraine, saying that any peace agreement must address the so-called"root causes of the war."
Meanwhile, on Sunday night, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the city of Adler, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. A fire broke out at the site of the attack.
According to the Russian Telegram channel Astra, the attack caused a fire at the Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt oil depot, which is located near Sochi airport.
Later, information about the attack and fire at the oil storage facility was confirmed by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev.
"In the Adler district, drone debris hit a tanker with oil products, causing a fire. The elimination of the consequences of the fire has already begun," he wrote.
