The attack on Kyiv was repelled by interceptor drones: Zelensky revealed the details

During a night attack on Ukraine, dozens of Russian Shahed kamikaze drones were shot down by Ukrainian interceptor drones.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his evening address. video message to Ukrainians. He recalled that this time the Russian Federation launched more than 500 attack drones and missiles. A significant part of these attack vehicles were shot down by our defenders:

"There were also important results today from interceptor drones. Dozens of"shaheeds" were shot down by interceptors."

According to him, Ukraine will work on scaling up the production of interceptors, as well as on the education and training of drone operators.

Massive shelling of Kyiv

As UNIAN reported, on the night of July 4, the Russian occupiers launched 539 Shahed-type strike drones and simulator drones of various types over Ukraine.

The invaders also used one Kh-47 M2"Dagger" aeroballistic missile, six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and four Iskander-K cruise missiles. The main direction of the attack is the capital and the Kyiv region.

Air defense forces neutralized 478 air attack vehicles : 270 were shot down by fire, and 208 were lost to tracking. 268 drones and two cruise missiles were shot down.

As a reminder, today President Zelensky and American leader Donald Trump had a telephone conversation , during which they agreed on a meeting between representatives of both countries to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
