Cambodian soldiers opened fire into the Thai area since this morning, 24 July 2015, affecting many innocent people. Cambodian operations show that they are targeting sensitive areas such as people's homes and hospitals, while Thailand has responded in a limited manner, focusing mainly on military areas. So far, there is still no sign of ceasefire negotiations, although there are rumors that Cambodia is trying to have China as a third country to negotiate with Thailand.

Lt. Gen. Pongsakorn Rodchomphu, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, analyzed that Thai military tactics must try to communicate self-defense in a proper, reasonable and proportionate manner because what happened was that Cambodia used multiple rockets to shoot into Thailand, which was quite far away, causing the deaths of Thai civilians. But what the government had to do was to declare that Cambodia was the aggressor, and Thailand acted in a proper manner to defend itself.

Thailand's use of aircraft to attack was considered an appropriate tactic because Cambodia used multiple rocket launchers, which in this case should not have used artillery to shoot back because it was disproportionate. However, firing multiple rockets had a wide area.

Multiple-barrel rockets have a range of approximately 20–130 kilometers, with the multiple-barrel rockets used by Cambodia having a range of 30 kilometers.

Cambodia's current attack principle is to do everything the same as the clash at Preah Vihear, which is to let Thailand and Cambodia clash, then submit the case to the World Court for a decision. This is Cambodia's highest goal. But this time, when Cambodia took the initiative, Thailand had to declare that it was invaded, so that it would not repeat the same thing as Preah Vihear, which was dragged to the World Court. Ta Muang Thom Temple already belongs to Thailand, because at that time France did not object to Thailand.

The government should respond faster and more clearly because right now it is slow and the longer it is left, the more disadvantaged it will be. Right now, China has offered to be the country in negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia, but if Thailand accepts, it will be at an even greater disadvantage to Cambodia because China wants benefits in Cambodia's Ream Port. Using a third country to help negotiate is not beneficial to Thailand because we have a two-faced policy and therefore do not have a true ally. Cambodia also wants a third country to help negotiate.

Thailand should use the United Nations platform and talk to the superpowers, but getting America to help negotiate is not easy because in the past Thailand has been involved with China quite a lot.
