Sweden, Norway and Denmark will jointly contribute 420 million euros to the NATO-sponsored initiative to supply US weapons to Ukraine, the Norwegian government announced.

The package will include Patriot anti-aircraft systems and other aviation equipment, as well as anti-tank ammunition.

Sweden announced that its contribution amounts to 240 million euros.

The continued supply of American defense equipment, which Europe cannot provide in sufficient quantities, is crucial for Ukraine's defense capability, Swedish Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister Emba Bush told reporters.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said the Atlantic Alliance expresses its gratitude to the three northern European countries for their rapid mobilization in financing the package.

NATO has announced that it will coordinate the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, funded by European NATO member countries and Canada and divided into packages of $500 million.

On Monday, the Netherlands was the first country to announce its participation in the initiative with 500 million euros.
