"We'll see if Putin and Zelensky work together," Donald Trump said when asked about the prospects for a summit between the two presidents.

"You know, it's a bit like oil and vinegar. They don't get along well for obvious reasons." He also added that it will be seen whether it will work out, as it is, whether he will have to be there. He said that he would rather not take part in it, writes Skynews.

The US president spoke about this after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that a Putin-Zelensky meeting was not planned because the conditions for it were not yet in place.

US President Donald Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last Friday to discuss the war, and on Monday Zelensky and European leaders visited Washington to discuss the same issue. Trump first spoke about a possible meeting between Putin and Zelensky on Friday. However, Lavrov has said several times this week that he sees a Russian-Ukrainian summit as a very remote possibility.
