During the investigation, the membership of People's Deputy Oleksiy Kuznetsov in the Servant of the People faction will be suspended.
This was reported by the head of the faction, David Arakhamia, on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
He stated that the faction fully supports the effective actions of NABU and SAPO in combating corruption.
The anti-corruption infrastructure, Arakhamia stated, operates independently. The law, which was recently voted on by the parliament at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky, provides all the necessary guarantees for this.
The faction leader emphasized the importance of cooperation between everyone in the state to overcome corruption.
Regarding the case involving MP Kuznetsov, he added that the faction expects its trial to take place in due course.
"Those guilty of corruption crimes must be punished fairly, regardless of their status and positions," Arakhamia emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after reports by the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, announced the exposure of one of the people's deputies, heads of district and city administrations, as well as servicemen of the National Guard, for taking bribes.
Later, NABU and SAPO clarified that this involved fraud in the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment at inflated prices. The essence of the scheme was to conclude state contracts with supplier companies at knowingly inflated prices - up to 30% of the contract amount was returned to the participants in the crime in the form of ill-gotten gains.
According to the Anti-Corruption Center, among the defendants in this case is Oleksiy Kuznetsov, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party.
