"They are not interested in the success of the peace negotiations, but are ready to send thousands of billions of forints to Ukraine," said Sijarto at a press conference after the informal session of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, reports MTI.
According to him, the EU and the majority of its members are ready to allocate tens of billions of euros of European citizens' money so that Ukraine could buy weapons, finance the army and maintain the functioning of the state.
Sijarto said that in Copenhagen it was understood that financial support should be provided to Ukraine, and since, as he stated, there is still no agreement on the use of frozen Russian assets,"it is clear that funds will be provided from national or EU budgets."
He emphasized that there is great pressure on Hungary to speed up the admission of Ukraine to the EU and to approve another six billion euros from the EU Peace Fund for arming Ukraine.
"The pressure is huge to send even more money and weapons to Ukraine," he said.
"Ukrainian Commission"
Szyarto also criticized the European Commission, saying that it behaved like a"Ukrainian commission" at the meeting, representing the interests of Kiev instead of member countries.
He added that it became clear that Brussels does not care about the fate of the Hungarian community in the Transcarpathian region, where, as he says, Hungarians lost their rights to use their mother tongue in education, culture and public administration after 2015.
As an example, he stated that the EC reacted quickly when the Ukrainian authorities changed the status of anti-corruption agencies, but that they do not want to stand up for the rights of Hungarians in Ukraine.

"The Commissioner for Enlargement clearly said that the fight against corruption is more important to them than the fate of the Hungarian minority," he said.
Szijártó also accused Brussels of ignoring the energy security of Hungary, saying the European Commission has still not responded to letters from Hungary and Slovakia demanding an EU response to Ukraine's moves that threaten the energy stability of members.
He said that the Hungarian government will protect the country and the economy from these pressures, and will prevent Hungary from bearing the negative consequences of the war.
"This includes full support for the peace efforts of US President Donald Trump, preventing Ukraine's entry into the EU, preventing the financing of the Ukrainian army with the money of Hungarian citizens and preserving Hungary's energy security," concluded Szijártó.
