Ukraine's Position and Weapons Requests

US President Donald Trump has denied information from the Wall Street Journal that official Washington has authorized Kiev to launch long-range missiles deep into Russian territory. The American president reported this on the social network Truth Social.

"The Wall Street Journal article that the US has authorized Ukraine to use long-range missiles deep into Russia is fake news! The US has nothing to do with these missiles, wherever they come from, or what Ukraine is doing with them!", the statement said.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources, reported that the Trump administration had lifted a key restriction on Ukraine's use of some long-range missiles provided by Western allies.

As some US officials told the publication, they expect Ukraine to carry out more attacks with Storm Shadow missiles. However, as journalists remind, these missiles have a much shorter range than the Tomahawk.

In addition, the publication mentions that on October 22, Ukraine struck a Russian plant in Bryansk, which, according to Ukraine, produces explosives and rocket fuel, using the British Storm Shadow cruise missile.

As reported by the WSJ, this non-public decision was made by the United States after the authority to support such attacks was transferred from Defense Secretary Pete Heigseth at the Pentagon to the commander-in-chief of US forces in Europe, General Alexis Grinkevich, who also heads NATO command.

In addition, the decision to lift restrictions on the use of Storm Shadow missiles was made even before the meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with Donald Trump at the White House last week, according to a source familiar with the negotiations, Focus writes.
