On Saturday, November 1st, at 7:39 PM local time, a knife attack was reported by two people believed to be attacking a train near Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. The train was traveling from Doncaster to King's Cross Station in London. On Sunday, local police said that at least ten people were injured, and nine people had life-threatening injuries. They added that no fatalities were reported. More than 30 officers were dispatched to the scene. Police boarded the train at Huntingdon station. Anti-terrorism units were involved in the operation. Two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

The circumstances of the incident are being established

A spokesman for the East Anglian Ambulance Service confirmed that the services received a report of"multiple people stabbed on a train"."We have deployed a large force to Huntingdon railway station, including numerous ambulances, tactical commanders, our Hazardous Area Response Team and critical care teams, including the Air Ambulance", the statement said."We can confirm that we have transported a number of injured people to hospital", it added. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

A witness quoted by Sky News reported that one of the attackers, brandishing a large knife, was subdued with a stun gun. Other witnesses described panic on the train, with passengers trampling each other and hiding in toilets. London North Eastern Railways urged passengers to postpone their journeys and said disruptions were expected until the end of Sunday.

The head of the British government took the floor

Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer described the incident as"deeply disturbing" and thanked the services for their quick response." My thoughts are with all the injured and I would like to thank the emergency services for their response. Anyone in the area should follow the police's advice" - the politician stressed in a post on the X portal.
