Polish Military Response and Defense Actions

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed solidarity with Poland and stressed the unacceptability of violating the country's territorial integrity after its territory was attacked by Russian"Shaheeds" at night. In response, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski pointed out to Orbán that Hungary should stop taking a neutral position.

"Hungary stands in full solidarity with Poland after the recent drone incident. Violating Poland's territorial integrity is unacceptable," Orban wrote in network X.

He also noted that this incident proves that"the policy of calling for peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine is reasonable and rational." He said that it was time to put an end to "risks and dangers." The Hungarian Prime Minister added that it was for this purpose that he supported the efforts of US President Donald Trump,"aimed at achieving peace."

Sikorsky, responding to Orban, emphasized that the incident with Russian drones means that Hungary must first stop taking a neutral position.

"No, Viktor. This incident proves that you should stop taking a neutral position and condemn Russian aggression. We ask you to unblock the allocation of EU funds for defense, approve tougher sanctions against the aggressor, and withdraw your veto on the start of Ukraine's negotiations on joining the EU," the Polish Foreign Minister noted.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico too reacted on the incursion of Russian"Shaheds" into Poland. He called it a serious incident that"could have far-reaching consequences," and therefore, in his opinion,"it is extremely important to objectively determine whether it was intentional or accidental and who controlled the drones." He also offered his cooperation "in finding all the necessary answers" to these questions.

Russian drone invasion of Poland: breaking news

As UNIAN previously reported, Russian drone attack on Poland revealed serious problems in NATO. This is what the co-founder and managing partner of DroneUA Valeriy Yakovenko believes. He noted: if NATO ever has to shoot down not a few dozen such drones, but several hundred, as Ukraine does every night, any reserves of military equipment, including their resource, can run out very quickly. The expert pointed out that it is economically inexpedient to spend air-to-air missiles or F-35 fighter flight hours against such targets.

According to military officer and aerial reconnaissance officer Igor Lutsenko, Ukraine needs to declare its readiness help Poland fight against UAVs, in particular, it can send a certain number of anti-Shahed units to Poland and provide other assistance in organizing anti-drone defense. Also, according to him, it is necessary to announce the readiness to accept Polish military personnel for training in our centers - specifically on the topic of shooting down"Shaheds".

Military expert Defense Express Oleg Katkov linked the drone attack on Poland with joint military exercises between Russia and Belarus, which will start in the coming days. He noted that Russia always tries to act globally, and therefore with this attack it was not only testing the political reaction of Poland, the USA or the whole of NATO, but also testing Poland's combat readiness. He called the drone strike and the Zapad-2025 exercises"pieces of the same puzzle."
