MILLİYET.COM.TR / US President Donald Trump’s former chief advisor Steve Bannon made striking statements on his program “War Room”, which was broadcast live on social media.

Bannon stated that Turkey has re-established its influence in the region, saying,"The Ottoman Empire is back. Erdoğan will be at the head of the security forces in Gaza."

‘WE REVERSED THE CENTURY-OLD ORDER IN TWO MONTHS’

Bannon stated that the balance of power in the Middle East has radically shifted, saying,"In two months, we have reversed the order that was fought to end a century ago." Stating that the American administration is in direct contact with Turkey and Qatar, Bannon said,"Turkey will be responsible for security on the ground. Qatar will write the checks, and Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia will send troops."

Bannon stated that Ankara is at the center of the new structure in Gaza and said, “If we are talking about a ‘new Middle East order’ today, the leader of this order is Erdogan.”

‘THE GREAT ISRAEL PROJECT EXPLODED IN NETANYAHU’S FACE’

Bannon, stating that Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” project has come to an end, said, “ This project blew up in Netanyahu’s face. Now the region is being shaped according to Erdoğan’s moves.”

Addressing pro-Israel circles, Bannon said, “You supported these policies, now you face a new balance of power: The Middle East, re-established under the leadership of Turkey.”

‘ERDOĞAN IS THE GUARANTEE OF SECURITY IN THE REGION’

Bannon, who was one of the architects of Middle East policies while serving in the White House, said that Erdoğan’s diplomatic and military strategy has redefined the region.

“ Erdoğan is now the guarantor of security not only for Turkey but also for the region,” said Bannon, emphasizing that the US is in close contact with Ankara during this process.

‘THE OTTOMAN WAS PROGRESSING WITH CONFIDENT STEPS’

Bannon also touched on Turkey's historical influence in his speech, saying," The Ottomans advanced with confident steps. Erdoğan is advancing with the same patience. A century ago, the British drove the Ottomans out of Jerusalem, Damascus, and Palestine. Now the tables have turned."

‘TURKS ARE IN THE LEADING ROLE AGAIN’

Bannon stated that Turkey has become a regional power again, saying, “ Turks were erased from the scene for a long time, but now they are back in the leading role.”
