Egypt's national team bid farewell to the Arab Cup from the first round after a heavy 3-0 defeat against Jordan on Tuesday, in the final match for both teams in Group C of the tournament being held in Qatar until December 18.

The Jordanian national team, led by Jamal Al-Salami, finished the first half ahead by two goals scored by Mohammed Abu Hashish and Mohammed Abu Zureiq in the 19th and 41st minutes of the match held at the “Al-Bayt” stadium, in front of an audience of more than 55,000 spectators in the stands.

In the 51st minute, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology cancelled a third goal scored by Uday Al-Fakhoury due to a handball.

But Ali Alwan, who came on as a substitute in the second half, made up for it with a third goal for Jordan in the 92nd minute from a penalty kick.

With this victory, the Jordanian national team raises its tally to 9 points, achieving a perfect score at the top, awaiting the runner-up of Group D.

As for the Egyptian national team, its tally remained frozen at two points in third place after two draws with Kuwait and the UAE in the first two rounds with a score of 1/1.

The UAE team secured the second qualifying ticket thanks to their 3-1 victory over Kuwait at the same time, raising their tally to 4 points in second place, while the Kuwaiti team remains at the bottom of the standings with one point.
