Dino's vote opens 2-0 for the conviction of Bolsonaro and the coup plotters

Tuesday, September 9

247 - Minister Flávio Dino, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), followed, this Tuesday (9), the vote of the reporting minister Alexandre de Moraes, who earlier asked for the conviction of former president Jair Bolsonaro and seven other defendants in the coup plot.

However, the judge advocated for more lenient sentences for some defendants. This leaves the score at 2-0 for the conviction of nucleus 1 of the coup plot, led by Bolsonaro.

"I agree with the rapporteur, dismissing the preliminary issues regarding the sentencing judgment, with the exception of lesser participation for defendants Alexandre Ramagem, Augusto Heleno and Paulo Sérgio [Nogueira]," said Dino when announcing his vote in the First Chamber session this afternoon.

After Dino's vote, the president of the First Chamber, Cristiano Zanin, closed the trial session this Tuesday.
