"The Nobel Committee has proven that politics is more important than peace," Cheung said on the "X" platform.

"President Trump will continue to make peace deals, end wars, and save lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with his willpower," a White House official said.

Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has repeatedly said that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in resolving many conflicts.

In recent months, Trump has said that he has stopped six or seven wars. However, commentators, the media, and leaders in many places, including in the countries between which, as Trump points out, he has ended wars, view these claims as at least exaggerations.

On the eve of the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Trump repeated his claim, saying that the first phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip reached this week is the eighth war he has ended.

But on Thursday he added:"Whatever they do, it's good. I know this - I didn't do it for the sake of it, I did it because I saved a lot of lives with it."

Nobel Prize experts in Oslo had insisted before Friday's announcement that Trump had no chance, saying his"America First" policy contradicted the ideals of the Peace Prize as set out in Alfred Nobel's 1895 will.
