Israel will respond forcefully to any Iranian violation of the ceasefire, he also says.

Trump announced just after midnight Norwegian time that Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire that would begin about six hours later.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Norwegian time, Trump declared that the ceasefire had come into effect.

The first phase of the ceasefire involves Iran halting all attacks on Israel for the first twelve hours, and Israel halting all attacks on Iran for the next twelve hours. Once the total of 24 hours has expired, the ceasefire will become permanent, and the war will be over, according to Trump.
