As an UNIAN correspondent reports, this was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He noted that as Prime Minister, he wants Slovakia and Ukraine to have good, friendly, and high-quality relations.
"I am glad that we were able to talk face to face, explain some things to each other and emphasize our opinions. Some opinions differ, that's life," said R. Fico, addressing V. Zelensky.
He also said that he had suggested to the Ukrainian President that he share his country's experience with joining the European Union.
"Because we made several fatal mistakes along this path," the Prime Minister noted.
In addition, R. Fico added that Slovakia, as a country, cannot participate in providing security guarantees to Ukraine, but supports various initiatives.
"We support the president's peace formula," he added.

Zelensky: Slovakia supports Ukraine's accession to the EU, which is very important
Slovakia supports Ukraine's accession to the European Union, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, the BBC reports.
"Slovakia supports Ukraine on its path to the European Union. This is very significant. We also believe that Ukraine and Moldova should continue to work together towards membership in the European Union," Zelensky said.
According to the Ukrainian President, he informed R. Fico about yesterday's conversation with Donald Trump and about working with the leaders of the"Coalition of the Willing", and R. Fico, in turn, spoke about his contacts in China.
"A separate and important issue is Europe's energy independence. Russian oil, like Russian gas, has no future," added Zelensky. This was the position the Ukrainian president tried to convey to his interlocutor.
Zelensky: Ukraine ready to supply Slovakia with gas and oil if they are not Russian
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to supply Slovakia with gas and oil, as long as it is not of Russian origin. He made the remarks at a press conference after a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Transcarpathia, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We discussed energy issues with the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, R. Fico. We are ready to supply Slovakia with gas and oil, but only if it is not Russian gas or Russian oil. Because we are at war," said V. Zelensky. He added that Ukraine is aware of many alternatives and projects and is ready to take action in this area.
"If it weren't for the energy problems caused by the Russian strikes, we could have cooperated with Slovakia in this sector. Before the Russian attacks on our energy system, we had a surplus at any time of the year. If it weren't for these strikes, we would have continued to cooperate," Zelensky noted.
Zelensky promises response to Russia: we will not suffer in the dark
Ukraine is responding to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and will continue to do so. No one will simply suffer in the dark.
As RBC-Ukraine reports, this was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Uzhhorod.
"Ukraine is responding to Russian attacks on our energy facilities and will respond," Zelensky said.
"But no one will simply suffer in the dark," the president emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that Ukraine very much wants the war with Russia to end.
Putin urged Slovakia to confront Ukraine
As UNIAN reported, during a recent meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in China, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Russia allegedly did not strike at Ukraine's energy sector,"especially during the winter period."
The dictator emphasized that Ukraine receives a large amount of energy resources through its Eastern European neighbors.
"Block their gas supply, block their electricity supply. And they will immediately understand that there are certain limits when violating the interests of others," Putin said in a conversation with Fico.
