“The Tisza World application has been attacked by international hackers since its launch, and the Russian services are obviously behind it,” - this is what Péter Magyar, the chairman of the Tisza Party, announced on Sunday, as he held a press conference on Monday morning. Now, according to the leader of the opposition party, their application has been hit by a Russian hacker attack, and according to some press reports, the data of 200,000 users may have been leaked online.

The party chairman also hinted on Sunday that he would be speaking about the decisions of the Tisza Party leadership, which affect the data security of users, the candidate selection process, and the selection of 106 individual candidates for election victory. It is worth noting that the Tisza Party has been postponing the presentation of its candidates for months - this process has been dragging on for almost a year.

Meanwhile, several opinion leaders, completely independent of the government, have also addressed the possibility that the data of the Tisza Party's supporters may have been leaked. András Hont, for example, wrote,"the data of our supporters is being leaked, but no, we were not stupid, it was the Russians. Because the Russians' biggest problem is what's up with the Tisza flower." Many also pointed out that the Russians probably have more important things to worry about than dealing with the Tisza application.

The Tisza has been dealt another blow with the escalation of the data leak scandal, with the data of 200,000 users being leaked. Another goal has been scored for Péter Magyar's party. They can explain themselves again, postpone the nomination of candidates for parliament, or - citing the alleged pro-Russian hackers - not even hold it

– this is how political scientist Tibor Attila Nagy put it on his community page.

There has definitely been a data leak, as the data was uploaded to a site called LeakBase.la. The uploaded file is partly identical to the database that Index first reported in October, which at the time contained around twenty thousand names - addresses and phone numbers. Incidentally, a Ukrainian company, PettersonApps, may have worked on the development of the Tisza Party app. The app's CEO is a Ukrainian man named Oleh Ostroverkh, who is a supporter of Volodymyr Zelensky.

Several online contributors and commenters reported recognizing themselves or someone they knew on the list. In addition, there was a media outlet seeking a change of government that contacted several individuals in the database after the data leak was made public, and they confirmed that they had indeed registered.

Against this backdrop, Magyar's press conference was awaited, before which two questions actually remained: whether he could present concrete evidence of Russian interference, and what an application data leak could have to do with the presentation of the candidates. One thing is certain: two hundred thousand people in good faith have become unprotected, their data circulating freely in the digital space.

He apologized, but not for that.

“The fearful authorities have decided to take another seriously illegal step. They have made public the personal data of the users of the Tisza Világ application en masse. Based on the available information, there is no question of a data leak, but rather an attack with malicious intent,” began Péter Magyar, who added that their IT systems have been under continuous attack for months. “We have been able to repel most of these, despite the fact that our security experts are facing international networks that are interested in keeping the Orbán government in power.”

According to the chairman of the Tisza Party, the current attack is not an isolated incident, but part of a conscious series of actions. Péter Magyar believes that the timing of the attack is not coincidental: on October 23, hundreds of thousands of people showed that the majority wants change. According to the party chairman, the Orbán government, in its desperation, does not shy away from even the most despicable means. He added: it was previously announced that three candidates would be presented in each constituency at the beginning of November, from which the voters would decide who would be the brave people with whom, in his words, they could defeat “the corrupt power that has taken the country captive.”

Viktor Orbán and his people have a clear goal: they want to intimidate us and make us uncertain. This is nothing more than a hostile list, the purpose of which is to instill fear. The Fidesz Kubatov list was only prepared for Viktor Orbán's internal use. The current list is intended to intimidate according to the old communist system. The largest and bravest political community in Hungary has been organized through the Tisza Világ application, and we will not let the government achieve its goal.

Péter Magyar stressed that they take the leak of their sympathizers' data seriously and do not expect protection from the authorities. The party chairman stated that he undertakes that after the regime change, the political and national security leaders of the"National Collusion System" will also be held accountable with the full severity of the law. He added that he understands that the incident scared many people, so he apologized and said:"I apologize for this, this is such a horrible system that we must act against together. I feel for you. I know exactly what it is like."

Péter Magyar emphasized that they are all working so that no one in Hungary will have to live in fear anymore. “They are doing everything they can to make it impossible, but they have not succeeded so far, and they will not succeed in the future. The aim of the entire attack is to stop the Tisza candidate nomination process and to take away the opportunity for Hungarians who want change to decide the fate of the country. But we will not let this happen, we cannot let it happen. We will carry out the previously announced candidate nomination process, because this is also the beginning of the end game.” He then added:

  • The candidates will be announced on November 17, 2025.
  • The first round of voting will take place with the participation of members of their community on November 23-24, 2025.
  • The second round of voting, which anyone can participate in, will be held between November 25-27, 2025.
  • The announcement of the 106 candidates will take place on November 30, 2025.

The vote is not held on the Tisza Világ application, but on the Nemzet Hangja website, Nemzethangja.hu. Why are they presenting their three candidates in each constituency on November 17? According to Magyar, it is partly because they were waiting for Fidesz to name its candidates, but this has not happened to date. Secondly, he believes that this way they give Fidesz the least amount of time to attack them.

Péter Magyar emphasized that the Tisza Party will not change the deadline for nominating candidates. He said that they will probably present their candidates sooner than “Fidesz’s own doomed people.” In his speech, Péter Magyar concluded by emphasizing that “we are the heirs of the ’56 revolution.”
