KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has arrived at the Pas-led rally held at Dataran Merdeka.
Clad in a black T-shirt and black trousers, the former prime minister who recently celebrated his 100th birthday was ushered towards the main stage at 4.05pm.
Dr Mahathir was surrounded by several bodyguards as he made his way through the rain-soaked crowd gathered along Jalan Raja.
Earlier, another former prime minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, was seen crossing the field at Dataran Merdeka towards the main stage.
Both are expected to address the crowd later.
It was previously reported that police anticipated a turnout of between 10,000 and 15,000 people at today's rally.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail had also said that the police would facilitate the assembly.

A total of 16 roads will be closed for the rally, which is expected to end after 5.15pm.
The police have advised the public to plan their journeys in advance and use public transport where possible to avoid congestion in the city centre.
