Hungary is interested in civilized East-West cooperation instead of the world's repeated blocs, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Budapest on Tuesday before leaving for Beijing.

According to a statement from the ministry, the minister reported before setting off for the Victory Day parade in Beijing that the current economic, security and social tensions and crises have led to the world once again moving towards blocs, MTI reported.

"This is not good, the bloc is absolutely contrary to Hungary's interests. We, Hungarians, are interested in the re-establishment of global cooperation based on mutual respect," he stated.

"We are interested in East-West cooperation, and Hungary has shown what serious benefits civilized East-West cooperation brings," he added.

Péter Szijjártó explained that one of the most important resources for the performance of the Hungarian economy in the past decade has been the fact that the country has become an economic meeting point between the East and the West.

"Tomorrow, I will discuss this in China with my Foreign Minister colleague and the leaders of large Chinese companies, how to develop Hungarian-Chinese economic cooperation, how to bring new Chinese investments to Hungary, and how Hungary can be an even greater winner of civilized East-West cooperation," he said.

China will hold a Victory Day parade on September 3, with Péter Szijjártó representing Hungary. Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are currently in the Chinese capital, along with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The superpowers are rebelling, Donald Trump's greatest challenge has arrived

We previously reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping announced a long-term new security and economic order at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin on Monday, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among others. The Chinese president focused on the “global South,” issuing a direct challenge to the United States, while economic and technological cooperation among member states also appears to be strengthening.

Donald Trump says India is willing to remove its import tariffs on the United States, but the US president considers this a late offer - he posted about it on his social media account on Monday. Donald Trump, in a post on his social media account Truth Social, highlighted that India has maintained a"completely one-sided relationship" with the United States for decades in terms of trade, which was due to high import tariffs applied by India.
