“The Ukrainian Foreign Minister jumped on my X after I announced that the Ukrainian oil pipeline supplying Hungary had been attacked. He told me to complain to the Russians,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote on Monday after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szijjártó suggested that he turn to his “Moscow friends” who started the war with his complaints and threats.
Based on information from a Russian deputy energy minister, Szijjártó claimed on Monday that the oil pipeline leading to our country had been attacked by Ukraine.
"Somehow the facts escaped my colleague's attention," the Hungarian Foreign Minister retorted to Szibiha.
"First fact: Russia has been transporting oil to Hungary via the Friendship Pipeline for decades. This is in Hungary's interest. Second fact: Ukraine is attacking this pipeline, and the transportation of oil is regularly stopped due to Ukrainian attacks. This is contrary to Hungary's interest," he listed.
"I am the Foreign Minister of Hungary, for me Hungary's interests come first! And let's not forget: the majority of Ukraine's electricity supply comes from Hungary..." - Szijjártó repeated his veiled threat to Kiev.
